Badminton Competition 2007

The participants came as early as 7am on Saturday morning to the venue in Damaasara Utama Multi-purpose hall for the badminton competition organized by DJROA. This year we received entry from as young as 11 years old participant. It’s a good sign as DJROA always encourage youth to take part in our activities. We hope that more youths will come forward to participant in our future activities. 4 categories: Men Single, Men Double, Women Single and Mixed Double were drawn for this year competition and the winners were:

In conjunction with its 2007 Annual Dinner which will be held on Friday, 19th October 2007 , DJROA will also be presenting the DJROA High Achievers’ Award to children of DJROA Members who have performed well in their 2006 examinations. The Award will be given in the following categories:

(b) Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan (Cina/Tamil) – 7 (seven) A’s

TRIP TO PANGKOR ISLAND

It was a 3 days & 2 nights holiday filled with fun, laughter and excitement for DJROA members from 11- 13 May 2007.

The holiday kicked off with island tour and went on to view the island with rock formation. Further on, near another island live sea cucumbers and the boatman caught one and let us had a closer look. We had a chance to see live sea urchins for the first time. Stop at another coral island, the water was so clear that we could see fishes of different hues and species swimming around the boat.

We were treated with nice sea food meals everyday and also a night with barbecued fresh sea foods. Of course, shopping for souvenirs like ikan bilis, dried prawns were a must. Every Morning we had good time watching the hornbills taking their breakfast of papaya and bread.

Thanks to Dato' Tan Yee Khan, the owner of the beach resort, who had arranged a memorable holiday for us.

Visit To Nursing Home

DJ residents are the caring lots.

On 22 April 2007 at 11am, we gathered at DJROA Community Centre and convoyed to visit PJ Nursing Home at No.5 Jalan Othman PJ Old Town. We brought along residents' donation like Money in cheque, Milo, Instant Noodle, Biscuits, Rice, Clothing etc.

The folks were treated with songs by DJROA committee members and Merry Makers. They were overjoyed and were seen dancing with the music. We left the home at 1pm with blessed.

DJROA GARDENING CLUB

DJROA committee has introduce a gardening club for all gardening enthusiasts. The objectives are to plant and beautify our community centre compound with suitable flowers and plants, and provide a venue for gardening enthusiasts to gather and exchange gardening views. Mr Ng Seng Hee, an experience gardening enthusiast, is leading the club and he will be very happy to share his knowledge and experience with fellow members.

Seng Hee was seen enjoying loosening the soil and replanting the plants. I was told that if you talk to the plants more often they will grow healthier and the flowers will bloom bigger and more colourful. He was working alone then. We are calling for more members to join him so that there will be more fun & laughter.

Eye On Malaysia

The first trip for year 2007 was Day trip to Eye On Malaysia on 2 February. We also visited Beryl's Chocolate factory and INS Wheat Grass factory.

Chinese New Year Line Dancing Party 2007

27 January 2007.

The first Line Dancing party organized by DJROA to celebrate the lunar new year 2006 was well attended by 90 residents and friends. It was held at Damansara Utama community hall from 6-11pm.
